Is your patient stable enough for outpatient care?
You don't have to decide alone. Our team completes an assessment and recommends a level of care. If your patient needs detox or residential care first, we coordinate it through our partner, Ona Treatment Center. If neither ARC nor Ona is the right fit, our intake team can help find another program.
Coordinating with your prescribing
ARC does not provide methadone. When clinically necessary, prescription medications are prescribed and picked up by the client at a pharmacy; medications are not stored at ARC.
Once your patient signs a written release of information, a counselor is available to talk with you about their care.
Hearing back about your patient
With your patient's written release of information, we share updates as needed and on request, as often as weekly. If necessary, we call you when the level of care changes.

Consent and confidentiality
Substance use treatment records are protected by federal law (42 CFR Part 2) and HIPAA. Here's what that means for your referral:
- You can send us a referral at any time. If you aren't sure about consent yet, choose "call me back" and share no patient details. We'll discuss next steps by phone.
- To share patient details, please have your patient's permission to contact us on their behalf. A signed release from your organization is best.
- To receive updates from ARC, your patient signs ARC's written consent naming you. It can be revoked in writing at any time.
- Our form: Sent over an encrypted connection to a HIPAA-secured system covered by a Business Associate Agreement. Access is limited to our intake team. Please don't include diagnoses, notes or records. If you need to send documents, call us first, or fax them to 530-420-3633.
Insurance we work with
ARC is in network with major insurance, including TRICARE West through TriWest, Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield of California, Aetna, Cigna and UnitedHealthcare. ARC also works with VA Community Care (VA referral required). With your patient's consent, we check benefits and explain them before admission.
Network participation and coverage vary by plan. Network participation does not imply endorsement by the Department of Defense or the Defense Health Agency.
