Planning the transition

We accept step-down referrals after successful completion of residential or detox treatment. Refer before discharge day and tell us:

  • the current level of care
  • the best contact for the discharge planner

Fax the facesheet and history to 530-420-3633. Please don't upload records or include clinical details in the online form.

Admission is often possible within 24 hours of referral, depending on assessment and benefits.

ARC serves adults 18 and older. ARC does not provide detox or residential care. If an assessment shows your client needs it, we coordinate through our partner, Ona Treatment Center in Browns Valley, CA.

Placement in a sober living house may be possible; ask our intake team.

Detox and residential partner

ARC does not provide detox or residential care. When a client needs it, we coordinate through our partner, Ona Treatment Center in Browns Valley, CA. Ona clients who successfully complete detox or residential treatment can step down to IOP or PHP at ARC.

How referral works

  1. We contact you. We respond to referrals within 24 hours. Referrals are checked after hours.
  2. We check benefits and assess. With your client's consent, we verify insurance benefits and complete an assessment.
  3. We recommend a level of care. IOP, telehealth IOP, PHP, or detox or residential care through Ona Treatment Center if needed. If ARC or Ona isn't the right fit, our intake team can help find another program.
  4. We stay in touch. Once your client signs a written release of information, we share updates as needed and on request, as often as weekly, and a counselor is available to talk with you. If necessary, we call you when the level of care changes.

Admission is often possible within 24 hours of referral, depending on assessment and benefits.

Insurance and authorization

ARC is in network with major insurance, including TRICARE West through TriWest, Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield of California, Aetna, Cigna and UnitedHealthcare. ARC also works with VA Community Care (VA referral required). With your client's consent, we check benefits and explain them before admission.

ARC handles prior authorization.

Network participation and coverage vary by plan. Network participation does not imply endorsement by the Department of Defense or the Defense Health Agency.

Medications

ARC does not provide methadone. When clinically necessary, prescription medications are prescribed and picked up by the client at a pharmacy; medications are not stored at ARC.
